States of Mind

Contemplations of memory, material, and place.

A series of textile-based works that serve as mirror and map—reflecting the psychological landscapes of their making while anchoring themselves in the physical world.

Each piece is a time capsule, holding the essence of a moment through the materials chosen, the weight of color, the rhythm of the stitch. The term “state” speaks to both the internal and external—the shifting mindscape of the artist and the geographies that them. Using textiles sourced from different places—some weathered by time, others bearing the imprint of their origins—each work absorbs the pigments of the land and the imprint of the hand, recording experience in fiber and thread.
